RAE WASSON

Rae Wasson is an actor, singer, and cellist. She grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota and is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Rae has performed regionally with Open Window, Theatre Elision, Lyric Arts, Lakeshore Players, and Brick by Brick Players, among others. Currently, she is performing as the Chimène in THE CID at Thin Air Theatre in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Next up, she will appear in HUNDRED DAYS and PENELOPE (2025) at Theatre Elision. She originated the role of Claribel in the workshop for the new musical A COLLECTIBLE SENSATION with Dunbar Hoffman Productions. Recently, she appeared in MACBETH at Open Window Theatre, PENELOPE (2024) at Theatre Elision, and THE 20TH ANNUAL 10-MINUTE PLAY FESTIVAL at Lakeshore Players.
On screen, Rae can be seen as Lila in Horn of Africa Production's short film CLAIRE.
Beyond her work as an actor and singer, Rae is a versatile multi-instrumentalist. She has combined her love of theatre and music and performed as a cellist in HUNDRED DAYS, PENELOPE (2024 and 2025) at Theatre Elision, OUR TOWN at Lyric Arts, UNCLE VANYA at Old World New World Theater, and in GHOST QUARTET at InterMission Theatre.
At the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Rae studied theatre and computer science. Drawing from her experience working as a software engineer, Rae is passionate about the intersection of art and technology. Her mission is to use theater and film to inspire human connection in an increasingly online world.
